About Pierce

I help people run their first marathon and their first 100.

I'm Pierce Showe, an ultramarathon coach and Guinness World Record holder from Dallas, Texas. I've finished seven 100-milers and three 200-milers, and I founded Run Your Race to help you go further than you think you can.

My story

I ran my first half marathon at 17 and my first marathon that same year. Then David Goggins' Can't Hurt Me opened my eyes to what was possible. If it weren't for that book, I don't know if I would have gotten into 100-mile races.

I ran my first 100 miles in November 2020, to raise money for childhood cancer research. I didn't have a coach and had no clue what I was doing, so I mapped out a 1.02-mile loop around my neighborhood and ran it 100 times.

Looking back, I could have done it a lot better with a coach. Once I got one, everything changed. Since then I've run Leadville twice, the Triple Crown of 200s (Tahoe, Bigfoot and Moab 240), Ultraman Arizona, IRONMAN Waco and a 2:51 marathon, and I set a Guinness World Record by running a half marathon on a treadmill for 153 straight days.

As I started doing more of these events, people naturally started asking me how I did it. That's how I started coaching.

What I believe

I'm a faith-filled runner on a mission to inspire people to become all that God has created them to be by embracing challenges and doing hard things. I started Run Your Race to help people believe they're capable of more than they think, and to equip them to run the race God has called them to.

We put limits on ourselves that just aren't true. Finishing something like a 100-mile race breaks those, and that carries over into your family, your work and everything else.

Who I coach

I coach busy people, a lot of them professionals and business owners, to two big goals:

Your first marathonOr a faster one. I've run a 2:51.
Your first ultra or 100-miler50K through 100 miles, and beyond.

Every athlete I coach gets my R.A.C.E. system: a Roadmap built around your real schedule, Armor to keep you healthy, a coach in your Corner who holds you to it, and Energy, your fueling dialed in for training and race day. See how it works.
